THREE REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD BOOK A YEARLY FAMILY PHOTO SESSION | NJ FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER | LAUREN MARIE PHOTOGRAPHY

As a Mama and NJ Family and Newborn lifestyle photographer, I know how important it is to document your babies every move. We take pictures, we record them, we write down that first smile, first food, first everything! But how often do we look back at those pictures or videos and see ourselves in them? For me, definitely not often enough! We are always the one behind the camera clicking away. And let's be honest we all know how quickly we blink our eyes and years have gone by. So, mamas it's time for you to get in FRONT of the lens! If this didn't convince you enough, here are three of my top reasons to schedule a yearly photo session.

Childhood is a short season.

Reason #1 - Get Mama in the Photo!

The first and most important reason to take yearly family photos is to get YOU in the photo. When hiring a professional like Lauren Marie Photography, your photographer will have the knowledge and training to produce beautiful artwork that you will hang on your walls and remember for generations. They will know the best locations, have the proper gear, and know how to correctly use the light to flatter you and your skin. They have the experience and will give you prompts that will have you laughing and showing true emotion and connection within your family.

At Lauren Marie Photography our goal is to have you interact and enjoy the time with your children while we document it so when you look back at your artwork years later, YOU are in them!

Reason #2 - They grow, FAST!

They say you only have 18 summers with your kids, as kids. As each summer passes they grow, change, and hit new milestones but we will never get that time back. The best we can do is document those precious moments of laughter, love, emotions, and personalities with photos. You know more than anyone as a mama, children can have big emotions. When hiring a family photographer look for someone that has experience with children and young babies. Someone that is patient, can go with the flow, and be silly with them. You can do this by reviewing their portfolio or simply by speaking with them and asking.

Reason #3 - Heirlooms that Last Generations

Your photos will be professionally edited and delivered as high resolution images that you can showcase on a gallery wall, display in a glass photo box on your coffee table, use on your holiday card, or keep them in a heirloom photo album. No matter how you choose to display your photos, they will let you relive that moment in time with your family just the way it was.

Bonus Reason (& a funny story)

I'll actually tell you a story about a stranger taking my photos first. My husband and I were vacationing in Florida and took a walk down this pretty pier just before sunset. I had my digital camera with me and we were taking photos of one another but had no way of taking a photo together. A few minutes later a young woman walked by and asked if we would like a photo together. Well, OMG of course! Her boyfriend said to us "she's the best, she's actually training to be a photographer"(his exact words)! I was so excited- she's snapping away from every angle, up, down, this side and that side, as I'm smiling thinking how great, we're getting a mini photo session with this perfect location and lighting! I knew the camera settings were already set up and the lighting behind us was amazing, I just couldn't wait to see them! She hands over the camera and the first thing I do after thanking her over and over, was open up the photos. WELL... omg you should have seen the disappointment on my face (luckily she walked away by then) EVERY SINGLE photo was a blurry mess! Not one was in focus!

You betcha our next trip we hired a photographer - and what a difference in the photos we came home with! Investing in a professional photographer that has the knowledge of what it takes to create beautiful artwork will give lasting memories that you will cherish forever.
